Anna Jaques Hospital Relaunches Gerrish Family Foundation Fast Track Service
Program Enhances Care for Emergency Department Patients
Newburyport, MA — Anna Jaques Hospital has officially relaunched the Gerrish Family Foundation Fast Track service, an initiative aimed at improving efficiency and delivering high-quality, personalized care for patients in the Gerrish Family Foundation Emergency Department.
The Fast Track program provides a streamlined care pathway for patients with low-acuity conditions not requiring extensive evaluation, such as sprains, simple fractures, cuts and lacerations, and upper respiratory infections. By ensuring lower-acuity cases receive timely care through a separate, dedicated track, the Emergency Department is able to position additional resources for those requiring more intensive care.
The official reopening of the Gerrish Family Foundation Fast Track comes after the hospital has ramped up operations of the program over the past several months. Since the initial relaunch, the hospital has reduced its left-without-being-seen rate by more than half and shortened the average time Emergency Department patients spend from arrival to discharge by at least 30 minutes.

The Gerrish Family Foundation Fast Track service is available in the Gerrish Family Foundation Emergency Department:
- Monday through Friday: 9:00 am – 9:00 pm
- Saturday and Sunday: 11:00 am – 11:00 pm
The Fast Track and renovated Emergency Department were made possible thanks to the generous philanthropic support of the Gerrish family, who have been donors to the hospital for more than 20 years.
