Anna Jaques Hospital Earns an ‘A’ Hospital Safety Grade from The Leapfrog Group
Fall 2025 Safety Grade Is a National Recognition for Commitment to Patient Safety
Newburyport, MA – Anna Jaques Hospital earned an “A” Hospital Safety Grade from The Leapfrog Group, an independent national nonprofit watchdog focused on patient safety.
Leapfrog assigns a grade to general hospitals across the country based on over 30 measures of errors, accidents, injuries and infections as well as the systems hospitals have in place to prevent them.
“Anna Jaques is proud of our history of providing high-quality care to Newburyport and our surrounding community,” said Tom Sands, Market President — North Shore, Beth Israel Lahey Health, and President, Addison Gilbert, Anna Jaques, BayRidge, and Beverly Hospitals. “Receiving an “A” safety grade from Leapfrog is reflective of the dedication that all our physicians, nurses and staff have to following the highest standards of care with every patient.”
“Earning an ‘A’ Grade means Anna Jaques Hospital made a true commitment to put patient safety first,” said Leah Binder, president and CEO of The Leapfrog Group. “We congratulate the leadership, Board, clinicians, staff and volunteers that all had a role to play in this achievement.”
The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade stands as the only hospital ratings program focused solely on preventable medical errors, infections and injuries. This program is peer-reviewed, fully transparent and free to the public. Grades are updated twice annually, in the fall and spring.
