About Dr. Anderson
Board certified in Pediatrics and Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine, Marianne Sollosy Anderson, MD, joined the Birth Center team at Anna Jaques Hospital (AJH) in March 2018. Her area of clinical interest is fetal and neonatal nutrition and growth. At AJH, she will provide clinical care to newborns and share Medical Director responsibilities with colleague Dr. Olga DeSimone.
Prior to relocating “home” to New England, Dr. Anderson was Medical Director of the level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Kaweah Delta Medical Center in Visalia, California, affiliated with Valley Children’s Hospital, Madera, California.
Doctor Anderson received her medical degree from the Medical College of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and did her pediatric internship and residency at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children, also in Philadelphia. She completed her fellowship in neonatal-perinatal medicine at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center, in Denver, Colorado, where she started her academic career as Assistant Professor of Pediatrics, Department of Pediatrics, Section of Neonatology. She later joined the academic faculty in the Department of Pediatrics, Division of Neonatology and Developmental Biology, David Geffen School of Medicine at the University of California, Los Angeles. There, she was NICU Medical Director and chair of the hospital pediatric committee at Santa Monica-UCLA Medical Center and Orthopaedic Hospital.
Her work has been published in peer-reviewed journals, such as the “American Journal of Physiology” and “NeoReviews”. She is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics and has served on various hospital medical committees.
Dr. Anderson is married to painter Hugo Anderson. The couple enjoys fine art, film, and bird/wildlife watching.
