About Dr. Kent

Dr. Kent is Assistant Professor of Surgery at Harvard Medical School and a thoracic surgeon in the Division of Thoracic Surgery and Interventional Pulmonology at BIDMC. Dr. Kent earned his medical degree from the George Washington University School of Medicine, and completed his internship and residency at the New York-Presbyterian Hospital, followed by a fellowship in minimally invasive thoracic surgery and a residency in cardiothoracic surgery at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. Board certified in thoracic surgery, Dr. Kent’s clinical interests include minimally invasive pulmonary and esophageal surgery, lung and esophageal cancers, and benign esophageal disease such as achalasia and gastroesophageal reflux. His research focuses on outcomes and improving quality of care in thoracic surgery.
