About Dr. Thurlow

Dr. Jeffrey P. Thurlow, MD, FACS, is a board‑certified general and acute care surgeon and the newly elected President of the Medical Staff at Anna Jaques Hospital. A Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and Diplomate of the American Board of Surgery in both Surgery and Surgical Critical Care, he brings more than 25 years of clinical excellence and leadership to the Seacoast community. Dr. Thurlow trained at Tufts Medical Center, where he completed his internship, residency, and chief residency, followed by a Surgical Critical Care Fellowship at Harvard’s Longwood programs through Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and Brigham and Women’s Hospital. Throughout his career, he has served in numerous surgical and administrative leadership roles, including Chief of Surgery, Trauma Medical Director, and Vice President of the Medical Staff at Anna Jaques Hospital.

As President of the Medical Staff and a member of the Anna Jaques Hospital Board of Trustees, Dr. Thurlow is deeply committed to advancing patient quality and safety, strengthening clinical practice, and fostering a collaborative culture across the organization. He values his close working relationships with the hospital’s administrative leadership, his colleagues on the Medical Executive Committee, and — most importantly — the dedicated members of the hospital community who provide exceptional care every day.
