About Dr. Roy

Dr. Adam E. Roy is a board-certified, fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in total joint replacement of the hip and knee. He focuses on both surgical and non-surgical treatments of hip and knee arthritis, and specializes in a wide range of procedures, including partial and total knee replacement, total hip replacement, complex primary and revision hip and knee replacement, knee arthroscopy, and robotic-assisted surgery. He regularly performs outpatient hip and knee replacement when appropriate.

Dr. Roy attended the College of the Holy Cross, where he was a four-year member of the varsity ice hockey team. He earned his medical degree from Tufts University School of Medicine on a full tuition merit-based scholarship.

He completed his orthopedic surgery residency at the Harvard Combined Orthopaedic Residency Program (HCORP), one of the nation’s most prestigious training programs. Following residency, Dr. Roy completed the Otto E. Aufranc Fellowship in Adult Reconstructive Surgery at New England Baptist Hospital (NEBH), where he gained advanced expertise in joint replacement and complex reconstructive procedures. He subsequently began his practice at NEBH, where he maintains operative privileges, before joining our team at Sports Medicine North.

Dr. Roy is a member of the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons (AAHKS) and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS). He has authored and contributed to numerous works of orthopedic literature and remains actively engaged in advancing the field.
