The Anna Jaques Hospital Aid Association, founded in 1888, is one of
the oldest auxiliary groups in Massachusetts. A volunteer support organization, the Aid
Association's primary goal is to raise funds for the purchase of special equipment of the
hospital and for implementation of community health projects. The Association has 200
members and is governed by its own board of directors.
Among the projects sponsored by the Association are; owning and
managing the hospital's gift shop, presenting our successful dinner dance Great Chef's
Night in March, and the Tree of Lights in December, providing photography of newborns,
children's tours of the hospital, and maintaining a gallery of art exhibits by local
professional artists.
In addition to our events, most of our fundraising activities involve
working with local vendors in Northeast Essex County as well as Southern New
Hampshire.
